Monday, April 19th is the next planning meeting at 6pm at the Ice Cream Shop. What better place to hold a meeting!

Things are coming together quite well so far. We've got all the entertainment lined up, starting Friday night, August 5th with Joel Tacey, who entertains at libraries and schools with a great family show, followed by the Scottville Clownband returning for their 4th year. Saturday afternoon the Straightforward Bluegrass Band plays from 2-4:30 with great variety of music, followed by the Polka Pals from Gaylord playing from 5-9pm. I don't think it's a secret anymore that my brother in law is the drummer in the band. How else would I get a group from Gaylord to come all the way to Copemish!!

Stay tuned for a full schedule of events coming soon. And remember, any questions, email me at ppaige@acegroup.cc.

Let the planning begin!

Well, with two planning meetings under our belts now, things are already coming together. New events being added this year are sure to be big hits. Friday night, August 6th, stop by for the Joel Tacey show. Joel Tacey does a wonderful show of juggling, silly music, wacky stunts and much more. Joel will be followed by the 4th year return of the Scottville Clown Band. We are happy to announce that the Straightforward Bluegrass band as well as the Polka Pals will both be returning for Saturday, August 7th.

This year we've also added pony rides to the list of events for the kiddies on Saturday, along with the always popular Titanic slide and kids games. If you've never slid down a giant blow up slide that looks like the Titanic sinking, you just haven't lived!! It is loads of fun for kids and adults!New also this year, the Betsie Valley District Library will have story time in the park and a fun craft for the kids to enjoy.

Sunday is shaping up to be fun with the St. Raphael's pancake breakfast, Historical Society 5k run and walk, and quite possibly, Fire Department waterball competitions.

Other events include lawn tractor races, craft show, Cleon Fire Department chicken dinner in the park, the ever popular Copemish-Cleon Historical Society display, a parade and much more. Watch for the full schedule soon.

As always, we love to have you. Feel free to call or email Pam at 231-378-2465 or ppaige@acegroup.cc with questions or comments.

Anothe year gone!!

We've got another year under our belts. Fortunately the rain didn't dampen too many spirits and didn't last long. Unfortunately, I didn't get as many pictures because of the rain but I hope you enjoy the ones I did get. I have to thank about a million people for helping me with this event. I'd list them all, but it would be pages and pages of names and businesses who helped, so let me just thank them all as a whole. They know who they are and that it couldn't have happened without them. If anyone reading this has any comments or suggestions for next year, please feel free to email me at ppaige@acegroup.cc. We always welcome new ideas and comments to make the festival better. I do want to throw out a special thanks to the wonderful bands that entertained us so well. The Scottville Clown Band on Friday night and the Straight Forward Bluegrass Band and the Polka Pals on Saturday. They are all great bands and we welcome them back next year. I hope you all enjoyed the 7th Annual Copemish Heritage Days as much as I did!! See you next year!!!

3 days before the big event

All we need now is good weather and we're all set to go. Check out the pictures of the Water Ball practice from Friday the 24th. The Water Ball competition begins Saturday, August 1st at 10am on Front St, so be sure to stop over and watch. I watched the practice and I had a great time. Be sure to save your appetite for the FD Chicken BBQ in the park at 2pm on Saturday. Sponsored by the Copemish Market and cooked by Frank Sorna of the Karlin Deli, it is a delicious meal, sure to fill you up. Cost for the meal is $6.00 and proceeds go to the volunteer fire fund for shirts, patches, etc. Pop is also available for $1.00 per can.

See you at the Festival!!!
